Hunter Black Page 51 - Hard Times

This was the first time I ever got to write a "second issue" that was actually published and available to readers. I'd do it differently now -- I almost never resolve the cliffhanger from the previous chapter in the first scene of the next. Better to set up whatever's new while creating more suspense. But I was still relatively new to this back then.

The whole thing about it taking 10,000 pages to get all the crap out of your system has a lot of merit. Maybe the only flaw with that thinking is thinking that you get ALL the crap out -- I still write my fair share of crap. It's just that now, I usually rewrite it before it gets to readers.

10,000 pages takes a long time to write. Better get cracking if you ever want to see what you're really capable of.
